A peaceful and beautiful healing eco-retreat in the ancient land of West Cornwall with a choice of treatments

Spend time in a four acre nature sanctuary, surrounded by beaches, ancient sites and country walks. At The Living Well Centre there are three homely cob houses: The Hobbit House, The Well House (a slightly smaller version of the Hobbit House) and The Moon Lodge.  The little sanctuary has its own private woodland, with hidden nooks among the glades where you can sit, listen to birdsong and enjoy the starry skies and even has its own ancient holy well.

To get the most out of your retreat and to make sure you leave The Living Well Centre floating on air, you can pick and mix which treatments to add to your package, just have a look at the information in the Activities tab and let the therapists know which ones you’d like to try. Choose from her therapeutic massage or Shamanic healing. Anna offers homeopathy and can mix you up some holistic remedies to nourish your body and mind. Once you’re feeling suitably blissful, head back to your cosy Hobbit House.

This earthy cob roundhouse is set in a traditional West Country orchard where life drifts by at a peaceful pace. Inside, glass diamonds made from gin bottles catch the light and apart from them and the sheepskins, all other materials are wholly natural. There’s a wood-burning stove and the portal in the ceiling is perfect for stargazing. The living turf roof insulates and grows forget-me-nots and the orchard is idyllic with apples, pears and currants - food for birds and foraging humans. You even have your own garden with a fire pit and a wood-fired shower and private loo.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful, cozy Hobbit House. It was easy to find, clean & comfortable. The site was lovely with a fantastic ethos, it was so nice to get away from it all. We even found the compost toilets & wood fired shower added to our experience. Thank you for creating this 'little Eden'

Briefly! Was dreading an English holiday but was just brilliant. All together in one room was what we needed to gel again as a family unit but without the exhausting hassle of camping. Felt like a safe little adventure. English weather OK if you've got a stove and a little hobbit house to relax in.

"We had a lovely time, the venue was better in real life than we had expected, Hobbit House is beautiful, lovely surroundings and the hospitality we received was excellent. It was clean, everything we required was provided and there was plenty of info about things to do. We appreciated the home grown flowers on the table and tour of the site and the other house when we first arrived.  We liked the information provided about how the house was built and the development of the project."

"We had the most wonderful time and found The Hobbit House completely enchanting. The orchard and planting enhanced the experience. Although we expected the compost loo and wood fire showers, we were relieved to have an electric kettle and lighting. Kelly was the perfect host and we appreciated hearing about the lovely local walk which again added to our enjoyment.  We had to pull the bed out into the middle of the room to enjoy the sky dome which is wonderful. The wooden canopy obscures the view which is a shame but maybe it is there for an important purpose?"

"Absolutely loved our stay!! Beautiful place, unique accommodation, beautiful surroundings, lots to see and do, very relaxing and inspiring. Hobbit House was wonderful, and the Plan-it Earth site beautiful. Owners helpful but unobtrusive. Compost loo took a bit of getting used to!"

"We had a really fantastic time; it has proved to be one of our most memorable holidays.  I loved the sense of being surrounded by nature (indeed, nature was coming in.  We had a regular robin hopping in who seemed put out that we were in his territory).  Inside it was toasty warm at night (it was still pretty cool when we were staying, down in the low numbers at night) with the wood burner, and the children slept like logs (they were right near the logs, maybe that's why) on their futons.  For them it was like wild living; after our Fire and Foraging course with Greg they were off making bows & arrows, attempting (and failing) to trap rabbits, and eating wall pennywort and gorse flowers, trusty stick in hand the entire time.  The sustainable approach on the site is right up my street - we had a compost loo (they are amazingly clean and hygienic) and had to stoke up a fire to heat water for the shower, which my husband really quite enjoyed doing after going for a run every morning.    That part of Britain is lovely - there are loads of great beaches nearby, some fascinating history to the place (tin-mines, the Cable museum, ancient archaeology) plus St Ives, Penzance and Lands End nearby and loads of tourist attractions.  We loved our little Hobbit House and were really quite sad to leave it, we felt so at home and relaxed there."

"[We enjoyed] the peace and quiet, the wonderful location, inspirational and helpful owners, a snug and cosy home so far removed from our own house, and the productive surroundings."
