A cylinder of luxury near Hay-on-Wye. Hidden inside an old grain silo is a cool and modern two person apartment...

The Wheat Silo is a farmyard conversion with a difference. The corrugated exterior hides a stylish and modern interior with all the creature comforts. The big double bed and kitchen downstairs are well appointed and the open plan lounge upstairs gives you light and space in the round!

The area, with Hay-on-Wye and the Brecon Beacons nearby, is a lovely place to explore whether you're after culture or adventure. Drop into the second hand bookshops and Hay's winding streets or get out into the mountains.

Our guests say...

"The stay was lovely. The silo was comfortable with amazing views from the upstairs lounge. Will, who greeted us, was friendly and informative, offering several options for places to eat and areas to visit, all of which proved to be excellent. The situation of the silo within the grounds of the farm was perfect and Hay on Wye was lovely and the people so friendly. I would recommend this break away to anyone"

"We really enjoyed our stay, the location is convenient and scenic.  The wheat silos are querky and very well equiped.  We were welcomed despite our late arrival with a welcome pack which meant we could enjoy an alfresco breakfast the following morning.  We would like to return in the future and would recommend to anyone wishing to visit the area."

"It was perfect. We went for our honeymoon after a festival style weekend wedding so we were both looking forward to a chill out. We arrived late on the Monday evening and the Silo was lovely and warm with fresh bread, jam, eggs and milk waiting for us on the side. The bed was comfy and the whole silo was a fantastic design with curved walls and windy stair cases revealing a huge open plan front room upstairs. The surrounding area was beautiful and tranquil with only some sheep that could be heard in the field opposite, you can walk to Hay-On-Wye in around 20 minutes and we were lucky enough to land on the Hay festival weekend which was fantastic!"

"We had a fabulous valentines weekend. Everything was catered for. The welcome pack was very kind and generous and extremely useful.  Will was most helpful on our arrival.  We were warm and comfortable. We loved the wooden furniture, very unique. Couldn't have asked for anything else and would definitely come back."

"A lovely location about 30 minutes walk from Hay.  We had a food delivery arranged for when we arrived and had a perfect three days getting up late, going for a run along he river and coming back to the Silo to consume copious amounts of cake and tea in the afternoon.  When the evening came we replaced tea with wine!"

Ben

"The property was in excellent condition and the housekeeper, Will, welcomed us with a carrier bag of essentials of butter milk and eggs.  He'd also made sure that the property was warm and toasty for our arrival. The location of the property was perfect too - only 30 mins to walk into Hay on Wye and easily accessible by car to the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons."

Leanne

"Greeted by friendly staff with fresh and local eggs, butter, milk, juice, crisps and bread. Parking space and amazing interior to a very high standard and very clean. I thought it might be very cold but they had preheated it and in fact got too hot at one point! Enough in the middle of nowhere but a close enough drive to the nearest beautiful and and other places we wanted to visit."
