Hester, the owner of La Maison Ronde, keeps things pretty simple. She is a friendly host, leaving a bottle of wine waiting for you when you arrive, and a mine of information on the local area. Your roundhouse is tucked away at the bottom of her garden with a lovely view over the hills of the French countryside. The rest...you'll have to find out for yourself!

The round house is situated at La Petite Renaudie 2kms outside Villetoureix, a small village with a church, school, shop, bar, restaurant & hair dresser (yes, one of each). Riberac is the nearest town, 6kms away. It's a typical French market town and is convenient for supermarkets and all other town amenities as well having a renowned Friday market.
There are country walks, swimming in the lovely local river La Dronne or at Lac Jemaye deep in the forest of the Double (ask Hester for directions), or municipal pools at Riberac and Verteillac.

You're within easy reach of Brantome "The Venice of the Dordogne", with its magnificent Benedictine Abbey and canoeing along the river, Aubterre with a monolithic church and a river beach and only an hour from the cities of Perigueux and Angouleme. There are prehistoric caves and the many Chateaux of the Dordogne, plus, further afield, the vineyards of Bergerac, St Emillion and of course, Bordeaux.
Pubs & Restaurants
Bertric Buree (6km) - noted for its fish hors d'oeuvres
Lusignac (10km) - lovely country setting and often live music in the evenings
St Victor (10km) - best ever puddings
St Marcial (10km) - simple French food
