La Cabushe – Dordogne
- Yurt for 2
1 double
Chez Devalon yurts sit in a beautiful spot overlooking countryside that epitomises southern France from its red tiled rooftops to its dusty country lanes. In their pastoral paradise Wendy and Matt have created three fabulous yurt camps, using local wood and Matt’s long experience of willow working.
La Cabushe is a five metre yurt for two with its own private kitchen, shower and compost loo. On arrival you’ll find a home made cake and a bottle of local wine waiting for you, as well as a perfect view of the unspoilt countryside. The toughest decision you’ll face is where to watch the sunset from. There’s a sofa in the yurt, deckchairs on the kitchen platform, a hammock or the bench down the path. When night finally comes, retire to the yurt and remove the centrepiece to watch the stars as you fall asleep.
While the yurt is perfect for a lazy summer holiday, there is plenty to do around the farm and in the surrounding area including everything from willow working courses to canoeing.
For larger groups, you can take the whole site and sleep up to 15 people in a variety of accommodation. Having the whole site would mean that you could bring kids and also use the pool!

Pets welcome
Kids cannot be accommodated at Chez Devalon except as part of a booking for the whole site. Pets will be considered but at the owners discretion because of their own menagerie of rather varied animals.

Our guests say...
"Wendy and Matt were very welcoming and really care about their guests. The yurt was great and clean. The kitchen area was good. The best thing was sleeping that long, and being able to sit with a bottle in the sun, and the view."

"It was lovely! The hosts were kind and relaxed, the accommodation was beautiful and cosy; the setting was magnificent, overlooking a valley full of sunflowers."
Lara, 01/08/2011
"Fantastic, the location and the yurt/kitchen were perfect, but most of all the family and volunteers they had on the farm were friendly and inclusive. We spent a lot of time chatting and hanging out so we really felt welcome rather than just a couple staying in the yurt!"
