Terms and Conditions

Entering the Competition

1. Sawday’s Canopy & Stars’ The 2013 Great Moveable Feast (the “Competition”) is open to UK residents, Republic of Ireland, Channel Isles and Isle of Man aged 18 and over* ("You") subject to paragraph 2 below.

*Please note that one person (so either winner OR guest) must: be aged 25 and over, have held a full driving licence for 2 years, and have not been refused motor insurance.

1. Employees or agencies of Sawday’s, or their family members, or anyone else connected with the Competition may not enter the Competition. 
2. By entering the Competition you are accepting these terms and conditions.
3. To enter the Competition, you must submit 150 words about your favourite holiday memory, send us a photo from the same trip and let us know one famous person you’d like to invite for dinner; http://www.canopyandstars.co.uk/the-great-moveable-feast.
   1. Photo entries must be in the following file format: Jpeg, standard landscape (6” x 4”), maximum size 5MB. 
   2. If you have any questions about how to enter or in connection with the Competition, please e-mail us at info@canopyandstars.co.uk with “Sawdays Canopy & Stars The 2013 Great Moveable Feast” in the subject line.
4. You are responsible for the cost (if any) of sending your Competition entry to us. 
5. Only one entry is permitted per person. 
6. The Competition is open from 12:00(pm) on 31 May 2013. The closing date and time of the Competition is 23:59 on 22 July 2013.  Entries received after that date and time will not be considered. Sawday’s Canopy & Stars (“SCS”) reserves the right in its absolute discretion to extend the closing date where the entries are not of sufficient quality.
7. You own the copyright to your Competition entry as its author.
8. By submitting an entry to the Competition, You give Sawday’s Canopy & Stars:

a.     Permission for your entry to be published by SCS and on guardian.co.uk, and grant SCS a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to republish your Competition entry in electronic format and hard copy for purposes connected with the Competition; and

b.    The right to use your name and town or city of residence for the sole purpose of identifying You as the author of your entry and/or as a winner of the Competition. 

1. 1. Your entry must be your own work, must not be copied, must not contain any third-party materials and/or content that You do not have permission to use and must not otherwise be obscene, defamatory or in breach of any applicable legislation or regulations. If SCS have reason to believe your entry is not your own work or otherwise breaches this paragraph 10, then SCS may not consider it. 

Picking the winner

1. 1. A panel of judges including Alastair Sawday and two Guest Judges (the “Judges”) will choose one winning entry from all the Competition entries.  Full details of the judging process and the Judges are available on request to info@canopyandstars.co.uk.
   2. After 22 July 2013, SCS staff selects a shortlist of 10 finalists, based on the originality and the creativity of the entries. From 29 July 2013 – 2 August 2013 SCS staff will interview each of the 10 finalists by phone. Phone interviews will take place on a business day during the hours of 9am Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and 6pm (GMT). SCS staff will call up to three times and leave a message. If finalist does not respond to the SCS staff telephone call within three business days, finalist will be disqualified. Judges then select a grand prize winner from the 10 finalists, based on interview responses, and the originality and creativity of their initial entry.
   3. The Judges’ decision of who the winner is will be made on or before 6 August 2013. The Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

The Prize

1. 1. One winner will win an 11-day tour for two of the UK. This will include taking in England, Scotland and Wales, with 40 courses, 10-nights accommodation, and a plethora of foodie experiences; all worth £5,000. This includes all transport, hire cars, fuel, and accommodation on a full-board basis in cabins, shepherd’s huts, tipis, sleeper trains, and Gypsy caravans. Activities include: wild swimming, woodcarving, River Cottage cooking class, vintage car driving, a 4x4 safari, livestock course, brewery tour, crayfishing, tractor driving, and more (see the full itinerary www.canopyandstars.co.uk/the-great-moveable-feast). Not included: spending money and travel to and from the starting and ending point in London. The winner is fully responsible and is strongly advised to take out adequate levels of travel insurance.
   2. The winner will be notified by a member of SCS staff by phone on or before 7 August 2013.  If winner does not respond to SCS within seven days of being notified by SCS, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and SCS shall be entitled to select another winner (and that winner will have to respond to the phone call or email from SCS within seven days or else they will also forfeit their prize).  If a winner rejects their prize, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and SCS shall be entitled to select another winner. 
   3. Details of the winner and their winning entry will also be published on www.canopyandstars.co.uk/the-great-moveable-feast on 13 August.
   4. The prize will be awarded to the winner by SCS no later than 13 August 2013 and travel will be from 10 September 2013 – 20 September 2013. Dates of travel are non-negotiable or transferable. If winner is unavailable for these dates, the winner’s prize will be forfeited and SCS shall be entitled to select another winner. Winner or guest must be in possession of a full UK driving license (inc. counterpart).
   5. The prize cannot be exchanged or transferred by You and cannot be redeemed by You for cash or any other prize.  You must pay all other costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize. 
   6. We retain the right to substitute the prize or portion thereof with another prize of similar value in the event that the original prize offered is not available.

Some other rules

1. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
2. We take no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.

4. No purchase is necessary. 
5. The winner will be required to help SCS promote the prize pre, during and post-trip.
6. The Promoter of the Competition is Sawday’s Canopy & Stars whose address is The Old Farmyard, Yanley Lane, Long Ashton, Bristol, BS41 9LR. Any complaints regarding the Competition should be sent to this address.
7. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude the liability of Sawday’s Canopy & Stars for death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation as a result of its negligence.
8. Sawday’s Canopy & Stars accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by You as a result of entering the Competition or accepting and participating any prize.  Sawday’s Canopy & Stars further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to You or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Competition. 
9. Sawday’s Canopy & Stars reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of SCS in all matters under its control is final and binding.
10. Sawday’s Canopy & Stars shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
11. The Competition will be governed by English law. 

Holiday and prize Terms & Conditions

1. The main prize draw is to win a three-night weekend stay (with Friday check-in) or a four-night midweek stay (with Monday check-in) for two adults at Poppet the Yurt at Crafty Camping in Dorset. The stay may be taken any date between 1 September 2013 to 30 April 2014, subject to availability (excluding Valentine’s Day, Christmas and New Year, half-term(s) and bank holidays). If the winner has already made a booking at Crafty Camping, the prize can be claimed against this booking.

3. The stay is on a self-catering basis. Travel to and from the prize destinations is not included. The stay is subject to availability and must be booked no later than 15th August 2013. If the holiday is not booked by this point or the holiday at each location itself not taken before the dates outlined for each place above, the prize will be withdrawn.

3. Main prize draw also includes a load of goodies from Anorak: One Kissing Rabbits Tuck Box and: 2 x Bath Towels, 2 x Large Toiletry Bags, a Coolbag and a Picnic Blanket in a print of the winner's choice. Total prize value worth £295. All prizes will be sent to any mainland UK address. There is no cash equivalent available.

4. Two runners-up prizes include: one Anorak Picnic Blanket (worth £36) in a print of their choice. All prizes will be sent to any mainland UK address. There is no cash equivalent available.

5. All entrants will be offered an exclusive discount code for purchase at www.anorakonline.co.uk . This offer does not apply to postage and packaging, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other Anorak offer. The offer will be valid for the duration of the competition.

6. The closing date for entry is 30^th June 2013. The prize draw will take place within 48 hours of the closing date, where under independent supervision the winner will be drawn at random. The competition winner will be notified by email within 14 days of closing date of prize draw. If the Promoter is not able to get in contact with the winner by 15^th July, 2013, the prize will be forfeited and an alternative winner will be drawn. It is the winner's responsibility to notify the Promoter of any change in contact information.

7. The winner may not use the prize in conjunction with any other offer, promotion or prize draw.

8. The holiday element of the prize is subject to availability and the Promoter reserves the right to change the prize to an alternative destination of similar value without notice if circumstances beyond their control require it to do so.

1. The prize draw is to win a 4-night stay for two at Lima in Gloucestershire. Dates of stay are from 5^th to 9^th August, 2013. Dates are non negotiable.

2. The stay is on a self-catering basis. Travel to and from the prize destinations is not included. If the winner does not confirm approval within 28 days, the prize will be withdrawn.

3. The prize also includes 2 adult tickets to Wilderness Festival in Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire 8^th to 11^th August, 2013, plus 2 Wilderness Festival programs, 2 Boutique Camping wristbands, a Lakeside Spa experience for 2 and 2 dinner banquet tickets. If the winner has already made a booking at Pilot Panther, the prize can be claimed against this booking.

2. The stay is on a self-catering basis. Travel to and from the prize destinations is not included. The stay is subject to availability and must be booked no later than 30^th April 2014.
