Little Links Yurt - Write-ups

Little Links sits on organic farmland between Devon and Cornwall with a rather magical story to tell.  Julia and Andrew contentedly restored the farm house and barns, sowed organic vegetable gardens, dug ponds, planted trees, and stocked the fields with their much loved rare breed Longwool sheep, ponies and good looking chickens. They grow flowers for you to pick all season long from daffodils to sweet peas to dahlias and if it rains, rumour has it Julia whips out a fresh banana loaf to soften the blow. Little Links is lovely for couples, and young families will appreciate being a bit closer to the farm.

The slightly smaller of the two yurts is warmed with rugs, sheepskins and a wood burner. There's a kitchen and dining area inside, and to sleep in you have a comfy double bed (extra futons can be laid out for the little ones). You'll have a garden all to yourselves and a barbeque area in its own meadow overlooking Dartmoor where you'll find a fire pit and rustic benches draped with sheepskins. There’s an impressive walk in shower in the shared bathroom which sits between the two yurts – about 50 metres away – and then an even more impressive wood-fired outdoor bath-tub. Supplies of tea lights and lanterns mean you can soak under moon and stars.

You can bring your own horse (or bike) with amazing trails all around and Julia will let you know about her family's favourite wild swimming spots if you need to cool off. Take a day trip to the Eden Project or walk in the tree tops at Tree Surfers. Discover a witch’s cauldron, pixies and waterfall along the wonderful carved gorge in Lydford.
