Glamping information
- Leonie provides crates for recycling but asks that all other rubbish and food waste must be burnt or taken away by guests when they leave.
- Check in is at 3pm
- Check out is at 10am
- It's a 5-minute muddy walk from the parking space to the camp so wear sensible shoes
- There is a river just in front of the site - although it isn’t very deep, parents should keep an eye on children playing nearby
- Please do not walk amongst the newly planted trees
- Kids are welcome at Nightingale Camp, but there is only the double bed and space for a carry cot
- Dogs are welcome at Nightingale Camp, but must be kept under strict control as there are cattle and sheep grazing nearby (£20 per dog per stay)
- Bring a good torch and wellies
- Phone reception can be patchy on certain networks
- Please be aware that as you are staying off grid some things may take slightly longer. Usage patterns, for example, leaving solar lights on all day and night can affect the performance of some equipment
- Cooking and food preparation can take place either under the covered kitchen area (this is attached to the side of the shepherds hut) or on the campfire
- There is:
- a gas stove
- a gas fridge
- a wood burning stove (more for heating)
- An outdoor sink with hot water for washing up.
- There is a bath with a shower attachment (solar heated) and flushing toilet in the bathroom hut a few feet from the carriage
- Wood burning stove in the hut for heating
- Solar lighting
- All towels and linen are provided
- 12v charging point for mobile phones/devices only, please note there are no plug sockets
- Your own private Japanese Ofuro wood fired hot tub in a secluded clearing in the woods surrounding the camp. You will need to allow approximately 2 hours to fill and heat up the tub (possibly longer depending on weather conditions)
