Can I still go on my holiday?

If your stay is before 14 April:

The UK government have now advised that people within the UK only leave home for essential purposes between 24 March and 13 April. This means that you will not be able to go on a Canopy & Stars holiday during this time. We are also recommending that you do not travel before 4 May and won’t be taking any new bookings. During this period we hope that you stay safe, look after yourself and are being supported by those around you.

If you have a booking during this time please contact us via bookings@canopyandstars.co.uk to see if we can arrange a date change later in the year or for stays up to 30 June 2021 (if the calendar isn’t open yet we can request this with the owner) so that you can enjoy a much needed nature break when we come out of this difficult time. We should be able to move your booking date, provided it was due to take place during this period, subject to us discussing with the owner. We will be working through enquiries by check in in date, getting to those who are booked in soonest first, so please bear with us.

To change your booking please look at the calendar for some free available dates and email bookings@canopyandstars.co.uk (please don’t call us as we are dealing with an exceptional volume of enquiries) with your 6-digit booking reference, you can find this in your booking confirmation. Please also include some ordered preferred dates, listing the date you would like to stay and for how many nights.

Example:

Booking ref: CS675492

  1. 13 September, 2 nights
  2. 22 September, 2 nights
  3. 5 October, 2 nights

We will work to your preferred date first. If there is a change in price we can take the additional payment over the phone if it’s of a higher value, or refund the difference if it is a lower price than the stay you have currently booked.

If your stay is between 14 April and 4 May:

The wellbeing of our guests and owners is the most important thing to us. With this in mind we would encourage you not to travel at this time and we won’t be taking any further bookings before that date. We will be in touch to discuss your options, but we’re working through our bookings starting with the ones happening soonest, so please bear with us. It’s usually possible to move your dates to later in the year. Doing this will allow us to support the small businesses and communities you are travelling to.

If your stay is after 4 May:

We know you really want to get your booking sorted and know where you stand, but we have to ask that you do not contact us whilst we work through the backlog of earlier enquiries. We will definitely be in touch.

Can I change the date of my trip?

If you have a booking before 4 May please contact us via bookings@canopyandstars.co.uk to see if we can arrange a date change later in the year or for stays up to 30 June 2021 (if the calendar isn’t open yet we can request this with the owner) so that you can enjoy a much needed nature break when we come out of this difficult time. We should be able to move your booking date, provided it was due to take place before 4 May, subject to us discussing with the owner. We will be working through enquiries by check in in date, getting to those who are booked in soonest first, so please bear with us.

To change your booking please look at the calendar for some free available dates and email bookings@canopyandstars.co.uk with your 6-digit booking reference, you can find this in your booking confirmation.

Example:

Booking ref: CS675492

  1. 13 September, 2 nights.
  2. 22  September, 2 nights
  3. 5 October, 2 nights

We will work to your preferred date first. If there is a change in price we can take the additional payment over the phone if it’s of a higher value or refund the difference if it is a lower price than the stay you have currently booked. Please also include some ordered preferred dates, by listing the date you would like to stay and for how many nights.

If your booking is not within the travel ban period it is not yet affected and we will be prioritising stays during this period first. We would ask you to avoid contacting us until we know more about government advice throughout that period.

Is it OK to book a UK holiday now?
Yes, you can book a holiday now, as long as it for summer and autumn period and not before 4 May. Standard T&Cs will apply.

Should I buy travel insurance?

Yes, we always recommend that you have comprehensive travel insurance. We recommend you take out a policy which covers you in the event of cancellation and has good medical coverage for international trips. Your coverage in the event of coronavirus-related problems will depend on your insurer. Please contact them if you have questions.

What happens if I have booked an international stay?

The current FCO advice is not to travel to Europe. If you have booked an international stay before 14 April we recommend changing the date of your booking. Following the advice above, many airlines and ferry companies are being flexible with rebooking. We recommend that you contact your travel insurance to make a claim. If you don’t have insurance please email bookings@canopyandstars.co.uk who can contact the owner to see if a date change is possible.

What happens if I am in an at risk group?

The wellbeing of our guests and owners is our priority. It is now recommended that at risk groups should self contain until 22 June. If you are one of the 1.5 million people advised to quarantine by the government for 12 weeks we recommend you change the date of your stay following the advice above. You will be entitled to the same policy of a  date change (subject to the owner) to enjoy a much needed nature break after this difficult time, either this year or before 30 June 2021, or we recommend you contact your insurance company.
