Our top three treehouses for throwing a celebration

Start the party on a high. Figuratively and literally, from the glorious vantage point of a luxury treehouse up in the branches. Grab your most fun-loving friends and family (even that pal who claims they don’t ‘do’ fresh air) and ascend into a leafy palace fit for glamping royalty. You’ll be ticking all the boxes for an awesome celebration – Insta-worthy photo opportunities, stunning views, hot tubs, oodles of space, top notch cooking facilities and array of memorable outdoor experiences to bond over. Whether it’s for a big birthday, a uni reunion, engagement party or anniversary, take a look at our best treehouses for throwing an unforgettable celebration.

Journeyman Treehouse

Sleeping up to ten guests in high-ceilinged grandeur, Journeyman does treetop luxury on an epic scale. Unsurprisingly, as it’s the largest treehouse in our collection. You’ll feel like a VIP from the moment you waft up the imposing staircase to the huge veranda and get that first tantalising glimpse into the vast open-plan living area. With so much floor space there’s plenty of room to bust out a few dance moves. You might be on a group holiday, but with huge windows that pull in the gorgeous woodland views, there’s an underlying feeling of tranquillity. In this relaxed, uplifting environment, laughter will flow, conversations will run late into the night and the hustle and bustle of everyday life will soon feel like a distant memory.

Start your days with an invigorating rainfall shower on the deck and end them with a BBQ feast followed by cocktails and belly laughs around the fire pit. In between there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained with a pool table, movie projector, board games, pizza oven, covered outdoor tub and tennis courts. You can even do green woodworking courses at Brook Farm House or visit the Cider House and sample the produce. Best of all, the treehouse is wheelchair and limited mobility accessible, with a long, shallow ramp up to the front door and a sofa bed in the downstairs space which is all on one level.

Journeyman is in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside within easy reach of the Malvern Hills and the Wye Valley for country walks, idyllic kayaking excursions and long, lazy pub lunches.

Rufus’s Roost

Every day feels like a party when you’re staying in a treehouse with a tunnel slide that shoots you down to the cosy den beneath. The challenge is whether you can whizz down without spilling your drink? Perhaps it depends how many you’ve already had… Rufus’s Roost is a fairytale-turreted Yorkshire wonderland that sleeps six where grown-ups can be big kids for a few days and the real kids can run wild on outdoor adventures. Toss a coin for who gets to sleep in the atmospheric mezzanine deck under the eaves and if it’s not you, insist on first dibs in the fairy-lit hot tub. The views from the meltingly warm bubbles are incredible – rolling green farmland stretches out for miles, perfect for bird watching and stargazing.

If food is at the heart of your celebration, you’re our kind of people and you’ve come to the right place. Nominate a head chef, let them loose on the outdoor fire pit, wood fired pizza oven or Rangemaster oven and see what delights they conjure up. Pick up a few local goodies to add some flavour to your party in the award-winning town of Malton, known as ‘Yorkshire’s food capital’. You’ll find farm-to-fork produce, fantastic independent shops and delicious eateries serving regional food and drink. For a fun day out, take the kids to Flamingo Land, hike from Baxby Manor or spook yourselves on a ghost tour in York.

Guest Rachel recommends that you believe the hype, saying: “We had really high hopes for Rufus’s Roost after ogling the pictures for the good part of a year – and it did not disappoint”

Silva Treehouse

The slide theme whooshes on at Silva Treehouse, a palatial hideaway that sleeps six in the Lake District. This one descends to a whole games area set up for competitive table tennis tournaments and mixing drinks at the bar.

When it’s time to unwind, grab a glass of fizz and go for a long soak in Silva’s private hot tub. Drink in the breathtaking mountain views and decide whose turn it is to run the pizza oven later. If you think the celebrations are likely to involve a tipple or three, give yourselves an easy start the next morning and pre-order a hearty breakfast basket from the owners (£12.50 for two people) containing sausages and bacon from their outdoor reared pigs and eggs from the chickens.

Exploring incredible places is one of the best ways to make memories as a group so make sure you gather the troops and go for a hike in the Pennines, hit the local mountain bike trails or set sail on a peaceful lake cruise on Ullswater Steamers. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and you’ll find yourselves itching to get back to your magical treehouse after a day of adventures.

Guest Louisa said: ‘The whole place is thought out so well, with another amazing surprise round every corner. Such a luxury experience but at the same time feeling totally cut off from the outside world! We all fell in love with Silva and did not want to leave’.
