Recharge your batteries

Leave the hum and roar of the city and head to the wild to recharge. Swap the city skylines for seascapes and starry skies, the downpour on the commute for outdoor showers, the view from the office window for outstretched vistas and come away feeling like you again.

Recharge your batteries is only one type of experience that features in The Wild 100, our selection of the incredible things that come with our stays. You can see the full 100 here, or sign up to our newsletter and have them sent to you in inspiring episodes over the next few weeks.

Wild swimming pond
Pantechnicon Powys, Powys

21. An infinity pond

Not an infinity pool, an infinity pond! With that stunning wild swim spot, adult seesaw and surrounded by lavender fields – there aren’t many places like this. Go on the tree swing, or huddle around the firebowl beneath the stars, whatever you do, breathe easy, it’s time to relax.

Lark, Yorkshire

22. Hygge in the woods

A classic looking cabin, the kind you imagine when you’re at work, Lark is waiting for you to arrive. Stretch out by the wood burner, sit outside by the chiminea, or take a bath with your partner in the twin tubs outdoors. Hygge is the word of the day here.

Falling water
Falling Water, Yorkshire

23. Flow therapy

What’s in a name? At Falling Water, it’s almost everything. A river trickles by the very edge of the cabin, pouring down the hillside. Lose yourself staring out of the stained glass, listening to the river burble, the wood burner crackle, and the great quiet in your head.

Wood-fired hot tub
The Sheiling, Perth & Kinross

24. Hide in the hills

Only an hour or so from Edinburgh, you feel worlds away looking out over the Tay to the sea beyond. Take long outdoor baths in the Lowland air. Get comfy in the big armchairs and fall asleep gently beneath the tiny cover of a book. Less is more.

25. Wellness in the wild

With Bath just 20 minutes up the road, you’d think you’d venture out for adventures. But with all sorts of wellness treatments available onsite - massages, crystal healing, candlelit gong and sound baths and lots more – why go anywhere else?

Woodland trees through circle bedroom window
Evergreen Cabin, Sussex

26. Forest bathing

When you can’t see the wood for the trees, we recommend getting out, and getting some perspective – perhaps in a wood, full of trees? That’s exactly where you’ll find Evergreen Cabin. Swaddled in forest, it’s the perfect spot to kick back, and sink into a hot tub.

27. A wild vinyl collection

30 minutes from Edinburgh, and yet, wild, remote, on the doorstep of a forest, with a hot tub and a secret lounge room with a turntable and vinyl collection. Could you ask for a better combo to unwind with? Cook on the fire and wake up with the sunlight pouring through the roof. Go au naturel.

The Carn exterior
The Carn, Herefordshire

28. The rolling hill vista

Set with its back to the wood, and its face pointing towards the horizon, The Carn looks over endless fields knitted together, with woodland striping the view. There are few better places to wake up. And even fewer where you have to pick between an outdoor shower, or outdoor bath to start the day.

The DugOut, Herefordshire

29. A library bath tub

With breathtaking views across three counties, it’s hard not to imagine life slowing down here. A bath’s an obvious choice to relax, but less obvious is the library bathtub, a free-standing and encased in books for your dip!

Trampoline swing with person reading and enjoying the view
Big Sky Retreat, Devon

30. Giant swings & wildflower meadows

After 20 years of nurturing, the wildflower meadows are back to blossoming diversity and the site’s alive with butterflies, birds, badgers, foxes, deer and owls. Sit out on deck, at the al fresco table, or rock on the giant swing whilst you take in the panoramic scenery that lies ahead.
