There are many things to think about ahead of a trip and in our time we’ve forgotten them all. So our team put together their top tips to try and remember when going on a wild adventure to one of our spaces.
Read the directions carefully, especially if you're arriving late. It's easy to miss that last turn, especially in the dark. It’s easy to miss it three times, actually, then knock on the door of a random farmhouse and scare the locals. Always use What3Words, they give you the most accurate location and directions.
Take slip on shoes to move between the hot tub and indoors, a bag for dirty/wet clothes, and a torch, because inching along through a forest at night takes ages.

It can be tempting to want to snap every moment of your stay on your phone, but try and find at least SOME time during your trip to put your phones aside and have a mini ‘digital detox’. Some of my favourite moments on C&S trips have been where I have felt totally switched off from the outside world, with no idea what the time is or what’s going on in the outside world.
Take along a couple of blankets for laying on the ground to stargaze and for around the fire if you want to get cosy. Have spare tin foil handy for leftovers.
On your first night, bring a pre-cooked meal or something that’s super easy to prepare. It makes that first evening so much more relaxing and you won’t end up eating a raw jacket potato at midnight because of your inadequate campfire skills.

Always take slippers (preferably ones you don’t mind wearing outside) and an extra jumper that you can stick on in the morning, if you’re at a place where you need to head out to the loo.
If, like me, you love a good book, then make sure you pack another for when you’ve finished your first. Oh, and a small game to play in front of the fire - I love Bananagrams or Monopoly Deal.

Keep an eye out for local farm shops / honesty boxes on country lanes, to buy the freshest eggs for your morning breakfast on the camp stove. If you’re lucky, you might find some other local produce too. Watch out for hand-written signs selling cider though, you’ll get some powerful stuff.
Speak to the owners and ask for their recommendations! It is the best way to find a secluded beach, a great dog walk, a cosy café, the best local sausages or a private spot to go wild swimming!
