Shepherd's hut holidays

Shepherd’s hut holidays take you back to the past, but in a fancy time machine that has, at the very least, a kettle and a comfy bed in it. Also, you don’t have to tend sheep. You do, however, get to spend your days in pastoral splendour with nature’s calm shearing all the stress off you. We've personally inspected every single place in our collection of shepherd’s huts across the UK, making sure you’ll find that perfect blend of comfort and old country charm.

Why book a glamping break with Canopy & Stars?

It’s pretty simple - because we only pick the best ones and we’re lovely. To clarify just a little, we inspect every place we work with, tasting scones and musing over views, so we know that you'll love your stay and that our Guest Experience Team have all the information to help you choose the perfect place. We plant a tree for every booking we take, but that’s only a fraction of what we’re doing through our charitable trust, partners and the B Corp network to improve the relationship between the travel and the environment, and make our business a force for good.

About glamping

Who we are We’re a small company based in Bristol who love getting outdoors and finding weird, cool things like shepherd’s huts with hot tubs. But beyond that, we’re a company who believes that we have a responsibility to be a positive of our community and our industry. We’re employee owned, B Corp certified and have a charitable trust dedicated to supporting environmental organisations.

Why choose glamping? Because there’s no better way to get out into nature, treat yourself and take a green holiday all at once. Glamping, especially in shepherd’s huts, is a low impact way of travelling, but without having to carry a tonne of camping gear or wake up in a damp tent. There are even shepherd’s huts with hot tubs, which might not be historically accurate, but is certainly fun.

Our shepherd hut holidays What we look when we personally inspect our shepherd’s hut holidays are a few things – quality in the basics like the bed, kitchen and so on; a genuine connection to nature and a few little touches of magic. You might find the owner has left a jar of their own jam, installed the perfect stargazing skylight or filled the place with beautiful art.

We are doing our bit for the planet Since we were founded, we’ve been working to try and improve the relationship between travel and the environment. In recent years we’ve stepped this up, even restructuring our ownership to create a charitable trust that uses a share of our profits to support organisations fighting climate change. Our Impact Report, published annually, shows what we’ve done, the challenges we’ve run into and our plans for the future.
