Some of our most inspiring treehouses

There is something very special about a treehouse holiday. It might be the sense of childhood wonder they evoke; it might be how connected you feel with nature when you wake up in the trees; it might just be the bragging rights you earn from staying somewhere completely unique. We're lucky enough to have visited every treehouse in our collection and have rounded up a few of our favourites:

Nordic meets nature in Dartmoor - Cleave Treehouse, Devon

For the seriously stylish, get away to your own Nordic cabin camouflaged within the trees. On chilly days, light the wood-burner and gaze out from the tall gable end window; when it’s warmer, you can laze about on deck where’s there a table and a bath big enough for two.

A fairytale dream - Faraway Treehouse, Cumbria

This is a treehouse for dreamers. The magic begins the minute you arrive, meandering through private woodland in search for the treehouse hidden within its midst. The eclectic interior has been lovingly designed, perhaps by pixies themselves, with velvet curtains framing floor-to-ceiling windows.

A treehouse big enough for the whole gang - Silva Treehouse, Cumbria

What's one way to make five new best friends? Invite them to the Silva Treehouse of course! Find yourself hiking the hills in the day and retreating to the games room by night, which can be accessed by door or, preferably, the secret slide.

The perfect place to escape the city - Happenoak Treehouse, Cambridgeshire

An incredible blend of style, comfort and the great outdoors awaits in this beautiful treehouse hidden in the Cambridgeshire woods, only 90 minutes from London. The space is open, bright and colourful, making the most of the stunning views.

For outdoor bathers - The Lodge Treehouse, Kent

This treehouse has all the mod cons, perfect for those who just want to kick back and relax. There’s a lovely waterfall shower en suite, but it’s eclipsed by the standout feature, the jacuzzi bathtub on the deck. Bring a bottle of wine, sit back and chill.

Tinkers Treehouse, East Sussex

The first thing that strikes you as you crunch down the woodchip path to Tinkers Treehouse is the perfect peace of its forested surroundings. As you round the corner, your sophisticated apartment in the trees draws into view. Settle on the balcony with a glass of wine and plan the days ahead as you survey your private wilderness.

Laze in the wood fired hot tub - Orchard Rooms Treehouse, Somerset

This colourful retreat combines chic style with a serious commitment to kicking back. You can lounge in the hammock strung between the stilts, get the firepit going and toast a marshmallow or two, plunge into the hot tub or sit out on the balcony at sunset.

The one with the bed you won't want to get out of - Bower Treehouse, Bruton, Somerset

This place calls for gentle extravagance. Everything here is organic and deeply connected to nature from the king-sized bed carved from stag oak, to the bath salts and candles - throw in a huge outdoor bath tub and you've got yourself a seriously nurturing adventure.

Let the kids run wild - Orchard Treehouse, Little Comberton, Worcestershire

This family-friendly treehouse is in the grounds of a medieval Manor house; kids will love exploring all day and coming back to their own cabin bed nooks, secretly tucked away beside the wooden spiral steps.
