Why are cabins so special?

Cabin life means waking up to the sound of birdsong and starting the day at the sort of slow pace that makes your shoulders drop and your smile widen. Perhaps a coffee on the deck comes next, a meandering stroll through the woods then a dozy session in the front of the wood burner. Whether you spend your days in a state of deep relaxation or throwing yourself into invigorating outdoor activities, as night falls you can cuddle up under a blanket under the stars and reflect on time exceptionally well spent.

Cabin holidays with Canopy & Stars

You’ll answer the call of the wild on a cabin holiday but this is a long way from camping and there’s no need to sacrifice luxuries and home comforts. There’s not an air bed in sight but you will find outdoor tubs, sweeping verandas, cosy wood burners and even underfloor heating in some cabins. The one thing that’s missing is hoards of other holidaymakers – just vast expanses of spectacular scenery and the blissful sound of silence.

Buzzing with wildlife, folklore and ancient history, Sherwood Forest is the best place to begin your adventures in Nottinghamshire. You’ll find guides wandering in Medieval costumes and everything from mountain biking, quad biking, paintballing and archery, to laser tag, falconry and clay pigeon shooting. Make sure you visit Nottingham itself to explore the cathedral and the vast network of underground man-made caves.
