Budget-friendly shepherd’s huts

Our affordable shepherd’s huts might not have acres of floor space, but they more than make up for it in small-but-perfectly-formed character. The curved, vaulted roofs mean that while they’re cosy, they’re never claustrophobic.

For £150 or less per night, you’ll get to stay in a totally unique space, right in the heart of peaceful fields or gorgeous woodland – surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature, but blissfully warm and snug. Browse our budget-friendly shepherd’s huts.

Why book a shepherd's hut break with Canopy & Stars?

It’s pretty simple - because we only pick the best ones and we’re lovely. To clarify just a little, we inspect every shepherd’s hut we work with, tasting scones and musing over views, so we know that you'll love your stay and that our Guest Experience Team have all the information to help you choose the perfect place.

We plant a tree for every booking we take, but that’s only a fraction of what we’re doing through our charitable trust, partners and the B Corp network to improve the relationship between the travel and the environment, and make our business a force for good.

About budget-friendly shepherd’s huts

What’s it like to stay in a shepherd’s hut? The humble, versatile shepherd’s hut has become synonymous with glamping in recent years. Cuddled up under the curved roof, you’ll be harking back to a simpler time when farmers would shelter in them overnight while tending to their sheep. The shepherd’s huts in our collection have upped the ante in the style stakes – you’ll still be nestled in a cocoon-like retreat surrounded by nature, but you’ll find a lot more home comforts than in days gone by (including the odd hot tub).

Our range of shepherd’s huts – from affordable to luxury Hut doesn’t really do justice to some of the shepherd’s huts in our collection. While some are small and cosy, we’ve also got some luxurious double-wide spaces that can fit copper baths and huge beds. We’ve even got one shepherd’s hut with a covered kitchen, firepit and hot tub attached. What they all have in common – as well as the iconic corrugated curved roof – is oodles of rustic charm.

Affordability and glamping Our glamping holidays come with complimentary access to the great outdoors and there’s no need to show your boarding pass to enter. When your back garden is acres of woodland, rugged coastal paths or rolling hills, you don’t need to flex the plastic for entertainment. The thrill of being out in the wild is enough. Our generous hosts are prone to throwing in quirky added extras too – you can try your hand at the ukulele at Dawn of the Day in Herefordshire and you’ll find a nomadic horse box sauna at Inshriach in the Highlands.

About Canopy & Stars’ expertise We’ve been trying out pizza ovens, sampling deep roll top baths and measuring the distance to local pubs since 2010 to bring you the most incredible glamping places to stay in. 80% of applications we receive, don’t make the cut so those that do, have the wow factor in the most breathtaking locations. So far, over 200,000 guests have found a life more wild with us. Find out more about Canopy & Stars and read our impact report to learn what we’re doing to make our business a force for good.
