Our favourite cabins with saunas

In a world where wellness is no longer a luxury but an essential reset, cabin stays with private saunas are emerging as some of the most restorative escapes in the UK. Saunas are known to ease muscle tension, improve circulation, boost mood, and support better sleep. All things you rarely get from doom-scrolling Instagram.

When combined with the healing power of nature, a cabin with a sauna can offer the perfect antidote to burnout. Be it from a wood-fired sauna deep in the Scottish Highlands or a coastal cabin where you can alternate between sea dips and steam sessions, these are some of our favourite cabins with saunas in the UK that are proving why they've become key players in the glamping revolution.

Otby Lake Boat House, Lincolnshire

Lakeside cabin with private sauna and rowing boat

Sat on stilts on the banks of a six-acre, spring-fed lake in the Lincolnshire Wolds, Otby Lake Boat House is the perfect lakeside refuge. It has a rowboat moored directly underneath the cabin for drifting, a private sauna for sweating it out, and wildlife so close you’ll start naming the birds.

No phone signal. No traffic. Just birdsong, lapping water, and the occasional splash as a fish breaks the surface. The sauna is right next to the cabin and is a haven of steam and stillness. Step inside and let the heat do its work. Ladle water over hot stones, breathe deeply, before heading over to the outdoor kitchen to cook up the trout you caught yourself for dinner.

Camelot, Somerset

A modern countryside spa cabin with sauna and yoga studio

Where countryside sanctuary meets modern spa retreat, Camelot’s tailor made for switching off, stretching out, and soaking it all in. Set in rural Somerset, the spacious hideaway sleeps six, with two full sized bedrooms and a loft that will spark immediate room claiming negotiations.

Inside, there’s a private indoor spa area with a sauna, a whirlpool bath, a smart TV, and yoga mats ready for a mindful morning stretch. You can even book in a massage session on site. Lastly, you can't leave without immersing yourself in the bespoke, six-person William Holland copper bath – it’s the biggest of its kind and is basically the cabin version of a mic drop.

The Spa, Devon

Luxury woodland cabin with cedar sauna and infinity pool

If Bond retired to the woods for a wellness sabbatical, this is where he’d end up. The Spa at Ravendere Retreats isn’t so much a cabin as it is a sanctuary sculpted for total sensory surrender. Tucked in a private Devon valley, it’s all sleek cedar lines, glass walls and woodland views.

Days here dissolve into a dreamlike rotation. Start with a slow sweat in the cedar sauna, then cool off in the heated infinity pool or take to the hydrotherapy loungers. We recommend ending the evening in the sculptural stone bath, listening to the wind rustle through the trees outside. There are also aromatherapists, reflexologists and massage therapists in the local area who you can book to receive a treatment at The Spa.

Scandi Cabin, Herefordshire

Woodland wellness cabin with private sauna and hot tub

Set within the curving woodland of The Fold in Herefordshire, Scandi Cabin is a masterclass in Nordic-inspired tranquillity. Built into a gentle slope and framed by trees, it’s a private cocoon made for deep rest and slow mornings. A highlight is your own private sauna on a suspended deck, tucked just steps from the door, where you can slip away for a steam with views of the surrounding woodland.

A rainfall shower big enough for two and a super-king bed that catches the sunrise complete the cabin’s quiet luxury. While there’s USB power for essentials, this cabin is otherwise designed to help you unplug. No distractions, just forest air, sauna sessions, and stillness.

Lark Rise, Northamptonshire

Off-grid cabin with lakeside sauna and wild swimming

It’s hard to believe Lark Rise is sat between several major cities, because once you’re there, it’s all wildflowers, birdsong, cooking over a firebowl and the occasional breeze nudging your hammock. This is a rural retreat done right, with an off-grid feel but without lacking in luxurious touches.

Spend your days hopping between the wild swimming pond and the incredible wood-fired sauna tucked beside the lake ready to steam away every ounce of city stress. There's a stargazing window above your bed and an outdoor bath made for moonlit soaks. Book a stay and let the landscape do the healing.

"We absolutely loved our stay at Lark Rise. The sauna and lake experience was a real highlight. Completely private and easy to use. It was the most relaxing and rejuvenating weekend we’ve had in years."

Inshriach Loghouse, Highlands

Handcrafted off-grid log cabin with sauna and wild swimming

Somewhere between a forest fairy tale and a back-to-basics wilderness hideout, Inshriach Loghouse is a handcrafted gem of a cabin that wears its rustic, off-grid charm like a medal of honour. Hand-built from local timber and hidden deep within the Cairngorms, this cabin swaps mod cons for candlelight, character, and the kind of peace you can’t download.

After a riverside wild swim or a forest hike, you’ll want nothing more than to sit in the wood-fired sauna’s dim heat, ladle water over the sizzling rocks, and feel the day's chill leave your limbs. Later, sip estate-distilled gin by the fire, read by lantern light, and listen to the wind move through the trees.

Hive Beach House, Dorset

Coastal cabin with private sauna and South West Coast Path access

Set just thirty feet from the surf, Hive Beach House brings you about as close to the sea as you can get without actually wading in. Waves crash within earshot, salt air drifts through the French doors, and the horizon’s always doing something worth looking at.

This place sleeps six, with open-plan spaces, Sonos, underfloor heating, and a kitchen designed to make cooking up fresh seafood constantly feel like a good idea. Outside, there’s a sunken firepit, a sauna and steam room, and the South West Coast Path practically on your doorstep. Start the day with a beach walk, end it with a sauna and sea view.

Bracken Tower, Powys

Circular stone tower cabin with sauna, cold plunge and countryside views

It’s not every day you stay in a circular stone tower with views this wide, or this peaceful. Bracken Tower is a one-off. Tucked on the edge of the Welsh hills, with a sauna, cold plunge, and a deck made for doing as little as possible, everything here feels curated for calm.

Inside is simple but thoughtfully done, from the breakfast bar in front of the picture window to the copper fittings and underfloor heating. Outside, there’s a hot tub, firepit, and plenty of space for stargazing, reading or just sitting still for a bit. Offa’s Dyke and the Black Mountains are nearby if you're feeling energetic. If not, no one’s judging. There’s nothing wrong with spending your time horizontal, happy, and slightly steaming.

Little Doe Bank Cabin, Warwickshire

Off-grid cabin with wood-fired sauna and wild swimming pond

Tucked in its own field at Hill Farm Glamping, Little Doe Bank Cabin feels like a secret world designed just for two. Powered by solar and lit by soft festoon lights, it’s an off-grid escape where slow living meets wild luxury. Wander down the path, and you'll find the wood-fired sauna and wild swimming pond, both included in your stay.

The sauna sits beside the pond, so you can alternate between heat and cool, drifting from steam to swim in true Nordic style. In winter, it’s yours alone; in summer, it becomes a social ritual shared with other guests. Back at your cabin, warm up with a soak in the outside copper bath tub, then curl up by the wood burner.

Edens Vale Lodge, Cumbria

Scandi-style valley cabin with sauna and wood-fired bath

Hidden in a quiet Cumbrian valley, Edens Vale Lodge cabin is entirely geared towards slowing down. You’ve got your entire wellness toolkit right here in the form of a sauna, wood-fired bath, firepit, hammock, and a hand-built bed made from fallen oak. It’s safe to say sleepless nights don’t exist here.

There’s a modern kitchen, a Scandi-style interior, and forest walks straight from the door. You can even stroll from the station if you’re travelling light. Wildlife’s always passing through (look out for red squirrels), and the hosts can book you in for reflexology or reiki if you’re leaning into full relaxation mode. Ideal after a long hike, or even better, instead of one. It’s a holistic escape that will have you leaving reinvigorated with a hearty Finnish spring in your step.

Your guide to cabins with saunas in the UK

  • What to expect: Most of our sauna cabins in the UK feature either traditional wood-fired or modern infrared saunas, each offering its own style of heat therapy. You’ll find them tucked into woodland glades, overlooking lakes, or built right into luxury lodges with sweeping views. Some sit beside cold-water plunge pools or lochs for contrast therapy; others are private indoor sanctuaries designed for slow mornings and mindful resets.

  • Where to go: If you’re wondering where to find the best cabins with saunas in the UK, let's start in the north. The Scottish Highlands are a natural fit, with lochs and rivers perfect for cooling dips between sauna sessions. Wales offers off-grid retreats surrounded by mountain views, while the Lake District brings that unbeatable combination of fells, forests and fresh air. Further south, you’ll find sauna cabins hidden along the Devon and Dorset coasts, where sea views and salt air turn every session into a full-body recharge.

  • The benefits of a sauna: Saunas aren’t just relaxing, they’re a genuine wellbeing tool. Regular use has been linked to improved circulation, reduced stress, better sleep, and a stronger immune system. The alternating heat and cold cycle helps your body release endorphins, ease sore muscles and trigger deep relaxation, so it supports both physical recovery and mental reset.

Top tips for your sauna stay

  • Alternate heat and cold: Move between sauna sessions and cold dips to stimulate circulation and boost energy.

  • Pack natural essentials: Bring biodegradable body scrubs or essential oils for a low-impact spa experience.

  • Choose off-grid: Disconnect completely by choosing remote, off-grid cabins without Wi-Fi or signal for a digital detox.

  • Hydrate well: Always drink plenty of water before and after your sessions.

  • Listen to your body: 10-15 minutes is enough per session. You’re here to unwind, not endure.
