Wild cooking meets meditation

Men With The Pot have taken an unusual approach to being wild cooking gurus - by not speaking a single word. In fact, you barely even see them. Slawek and Krzysztof simply make food outdoors and film it in a way that feels like you can taste it as you watch. It's part foodie inspiration, part ASMR and all brilliant. Hear the soft scrape of a knife falling through ginger onto a wooden board, the satisfying crunch of onions and that wonderful sizzle as they whip up lemon crunchy chicken. You'll be out in the garden with a cauldron in no time.

Here's how to do it:

Crunchy lemon chicken

Ingredients:

  • Chicken breast
  • Chillies
  • Lemon
  • Bay leaves
  • Cornstarch
  • Onion
  • Honey
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Spring onions
  • Soy sauce

Method:

Important note. Although it's shown in the video, it is not mandatory to make your own pot hanger out of fallen wood.

  1. Rub the chicken in cornstarch and fry in oil until crispy, then set aside
  2. Roughly chop the onion, garlic, ginger and chillies
  3. Fry them in a little oil along with the honey, soy sauce and a couple of big squeezes of lemon juice
  4. Cook the rice with slices of lemon and bay leaves in the water
  5. When the sauce is bubbling away, tip in the chicken for a couple of minutes
  6. Serve over the rice with a generous handful of lemon zest and chopped spring onions to garnish
