What to do in Exeter A day in Exeter might begin with a visit to the magnificent gothic cathedral to see the soaring stained glass windows and take a tour of the roof. Then a jaunt round the indie boutiques in the West Quarter and a Devon cream tea to fuel the short stroll to the historic Quayside. Here you can hire bikes, kayaks or paddle boards for a couple of hours to build up an appetite for dinner. If the sun’s shining, hop on the train and visit the miles of golden sand and rock pools at Exmouth or don a rucksack and stride off to Dartmoor National Park.
