Take a walk on the wild side in Northumberland and discover coast, countryside, castles, dazzling dark skies and vast forests criss-crossed with footpaths. Stay in one of our remote cabins to truly appreciate the scale of the wide-open spaces and while you’re soaking in the hot tub, you might get a glimpse of the elusive Northern Lights. The connection to the great outdoors is just like camping, except it’s nothing like camping. The beds have cloud-like levels of comfort, the sofas are squidgy and the glowing wood burner sets the scene for a blissfully cosy night in.
A huge glamping grin (that’s the official term) will stretch across your cheeks after a couple of hours in one of our cabins with a hot hub. We know exactly how good it feels to stay deep in the heart of nature, because we inspect every single one of our spaces to ensure they meet our high standards. All of our cabins have that magic combination of cosy comfort, playful luxury and a deep connection to the great outdoors. The hot tub is the seductively steaming cherry on top.
Hot tubs need a bit of time and care before you’re steaming under the stars. Always look for instructions from the owner on the specific type at the space, but here are a few tips to get your hot tub technique up to a simmer before you arrive.
We'd like to think we have some of Britain's most scenic hot tubs, baths, double baths and outdoor showers in our collection so we've rounded up some of ours, and our guests' favourites below. Lie back, relax and enjoy; you can almost feel the wind on your nips…
What’s it like to stay in a cabin with a hot tub? A cabin holiday with a hot tub is a chance to slow down, breathe deeply and appreciate the beauty that’s all around you – rather than racing through it at 100 miles per hour. A typical day might involve a leisurely stroll along country lanes, a hearty pub lunch, a game of cards in front of the wood burner and a BBQ on the deck. All interspersed with dip after indulgent dip in that meltingly warm hot tub.
Sustainability and glamping We work with our passionate owners to reduce their environmental impact, so you’re likely to find things like renewable energy sources and rewilding projects in our spaces. It’s all part of our wider mission to promote positive change in the glamping sector and make travel a force for good. If you want to find out more about our goals, which include achieving net zero carbon by 2030, take a look at our impact report.
What makes Northumberland so special? Northumberland boasts spectacular scenery full of majestic attractions and hidden gems. Visit the dramatic breach at Bamburgh and the magnificent ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle but head off the beaten track too and explore the iron fort at Rob Hill, St Cuthbert’s Cave and the spectacular Lindhope Linn waterfall. If you’ve bought the kids, Alnwick Castle is a must-see for its starring role as Hogwarts in Harry Potter. There’s so much to do, but so much exhilarating space to run wild doing it all in.
Why book with Canopy & Stars? We’ve been on the hunt for the UK and Europe’s most unique and remote glamping spaces since 2010, so it’s fair to say that we know our stuff these days. Our unique cabins will allow you to ditch the devices and unleash that playful big kid you hide away for most of the year. In Northumberland you’ll find a treasure trove of delights from stargazing ceilings to mezzanine sleep decks and covered decks with wide-open countryside views.
