Hike in the glorious Lake District National Park, then melt into a warm hot tub to ease those aching limbs. The breathtaking mountain scenery makes al fresco soaks even more delightful, and the steaming water is considerably more inviting than that bracing tarn you dipped your toes in earlier. Once shoulders have dropped and relaxation levels have reached what we refer to as, ‘glamping mellow’, fire up the BBQ, toast marshmallows, stargaze, and repeat.
Glamping doesn’t just take you to a pretty backdrop, it puts you in the beating heart of nature and connects you to the landscape. A hot tub is a blissfully indulgent way of communing with the wild beauty of the Lakes – along with the hammocks, window seats, loungers and other relaxing nooks that our wonderful owners create. We inspect every place, so you can rest assured that all of our glamping places in the Lake District have met our high standards.
Always look for instructions from the owner on the specific type at the space, but here are a few tips to get your hot tub technique up to a simmer before you arrive.
Breathe in the fresh air, crack open the bubbles and make new memories. Cuddling up together in a warm outdoor hot tub under a sparkling blanket of stars will be the icing on the cake (or the skylight in the treehouse).
What’s it like to stay at a glamping place with a hot tub? Glamping with a hot tub gives you that extra incentive to scale the peak of the mountain, kayak to the other side of the lake and keep going to the end of the biking trail? Why? Because at the end of each exhilarating day, you know that a long peaceful soak awaits and you don’t even need to come in from the fresh air to enjoy it.
Sustainability and glamping At Canopy & Stars we’re committed to improving our carbon footprint and promoting positive change in the glamping sector. We've capped our destinations in over-touristed areas and we aim to achieve net zero by 2030. We are majority employee-owned and part-owned by a charitable trust that uses a share of the profits to support environmental causes. To find out more, read our impact report.
About Canopy & Stars’ expertise Identikit holidays are not our bag. In fact, our actual bags are well-worn rucksacks that we’ve lugged along woodland trails, coastal paths and country lanes since 2010 to find you the most unique glamping places to stay in the UK and Europe. We're incredibly discerning on your behalf – 80% of applications we receive don't make the cut, so those that do, are pretty special.
What makes the Lake District so special? We could wax lyrical for days about the majestic Lake District – a land of towering peaks, glistening waters, deep valleys, picturesque villages and atmospheric castles. Not forgetting the sugary wonder that is Kendal mint cake. It also happens to be a foodie hotspot so visit some of the quirky cafes, gastro pubs and Michelin star restaurants while you’re there. Working up an appetite shouldn’t be a problem.
We're majority employee owned, which means we all get a say in how the business is run.
Our Charitable Trust uses 24% ownership of the company to support environmental causes
We're committing to raise £50,000 by 2027 to help protect nature in our national parks.
