From spectacular countryside to vast, award-winning beaches, Northumberland specialises in wide-open spaces. It’s great to stride out into the wilds and explore but it’s also pretty blissful to appreciate the majestic views from the steaming sanctuary of a hot tub. Ideally nursing a glass of something delicious. When the sun sets in the Northumberland National Park, the famous dark skies come into their own and the stargazing will take your breath away. Head to the northernmost reaches of England and discover your perfect glamping place with a hot tub.
We seek out glamping places where love and creativity have been poured into every tiny detail, including the hot tub. We personally inspect each space to make sure we’re bringing you something special that oozes with character. Our hosts are warm, generous and prone to adding wonderful little flourishes, welcome hampers and surprise treats that make a glamping break so memorable. If you like bland, you’ve come to the wrong place, but if you’re partial to travel off the beaten track and a connection to nature, you’ve found your tribe.
Always look for instructions from the owner on the specific type at the space, but here are a few tips to get your hot tub technique up to a simmer before you arrive.
Breathe in the fresh air, crack open the bubbles and make new memories. Cuddling up together in a warm outdoor hot tub under a sparkling blanket of stars will be the icing on the cake (or the skylight in the treehouse).
What’s it like to stay at a glamping place with a hot tub?
When you’ve experienced bare skin in warm water against a backdrop of rolling green fields, a rugged seascape or starry skies, it’s hard to think of a comparably blissful experience. In fact, we’re not sure there is one. Deep relaxation in wild, beautiful surroundings is the antidote to the stresses of modern life
Sustainability and glamping
At Canopy & Stars, we’re on a mission to do business in socially and environmentally responsible ways. That’s why we’re employee-owned, with a charitable trust and B Corp certification. We’re all too aware that travel has an environmental impact but we’re determined to promote positive change in the glamping sector, and we’ve pledged to become carbon neutral by 2030. Find out more in our 2023 Impact Report.
About Canopy & Stars’ expertise
We’re a small, Bristol-based company who champion independent travel. The kind of travel that immerses you in the landscape so that you feel like part of it. We’ve been exploring the wildest corners of the UK and beyond since 2010 to bring you the most unique glamping places. Last year we were named Most Ethical Travel Booking Site by Ethical Consumer. We’ve been to every place we work with, we read all our feedback and we treat people how they should be treated.
What makes Scotland so special?
Escape the crowds to a remote, sweeping landscape where you can spend all day roaming on vast beaches and in wild woodlands without seeing a soul. Adventure junkies will love the mountain bike trails, forest zip lines and water sports. If you love culture, you’re spoilt for choice with magical castles like Alnwick and Dunstanburgh that whisper secrets from the past. Thanks to its dramatic landscapes, Northumberland has had a starring role in world-famous films and TV shows and you can visit locations from the likes of Harry Potter and Downton Abbey.
We're majority employee owned, which means we all get a say in how the business is run.
Our Charitable Trust uses 24% ownership of the company to support environmental causes
We're committing to raise £50,000 by 2027 to help protect nature in our national parks.
