Take a look at our dog-friendly cabins in Cornwall near a great pub.

Woodstock Ark

The Ark is part-cabin, part-boat with a carved shower door from Mexico, quirky windows and bench pews from an old ice house in Penzance. Basically, it’s anything but ordinary. You’re right on the Southwest Coast Path for wind swept dog walks, and close to the famous Minack Theatre and St Michael’s Mount. Within a six minute saunter of the cabin, you’ll stumble across The Packet Inn, run by a local chef and serving an excellent menu of locally sourced fare. It’s a lively spot with regular pub quizzes, themed evenings, music nights and a pretty outside terrace.

Spring Park

With eight quirky spaces ranging from colourful wagons to tin chapels, Spring Park welcomes dogs, kids and large groups to enjoy the peace and abundant wildlife. It’s somewhere to unwind completely – soak in the hot tub, go for long walks and spot bunnies, bats, birds and beautiful flowers. Within an easy stroll, the appropriately-named The Springer Spaniel offers great gastro grub and ‘waggytail’ cocktails in a rustic setting. A little further down the lanes (and worth the short three mile drive), The Royal lies in a picturesque setting on the Tamar Trail and serves delicious traditional pub food.

Halzephron House

At Halzephron House you can choose from a wooden cabin, an observatory and a cottage, all with epic sea views and spread over four acres of idyllic grounds. If the scenery wasn’t dramatic enough already, there’s even a cliffside amphitheatre. Each of the three spaces has its own private garden, perfect for al-fresco dining and night-time stargazing. You’re down in the southernmost tip of Cornwall here, with Lizard Point a short drive away and three glorious beaches within (dog) walking distance. Famous Halzephron Inn is a 5 minute stroll away in the village, it was built around 500 years ago and is steeped in seductive, smuggling history. Today it offers real ales, award-winning local food and a very warm welcome.

The Stumpy Hobbit

For sheer storybook escapism, head to The Stumpy Hobbit, your very own handcrafted off-grid hut in the woods built around a living ash tree. If you’re partial to a quirky selfie with your faithful friend, make sure you snap one in front of the circular door – Middle Earth, eat your heart out. Mill Valley is a gorgeous acre-and-a-half secure site that well-behaved dogs can play in off the lead. As you explore, you’ll discover a natural swimming pool in the woods for a refreshing dip. When adventuring hobbits are ready to quench their thirst, the local pub St Mabyn Inn delivers the goods with delicious food, a roaring fire and expertly-kept local ales.

Orchard Yurt

The Orchard Yurt is a peaceful haven surrounded by mature trees with a hammock swaying outside and its own private hot tub. Set on gorgeous Lombard Farm, you’ve got access to the shared facilities at ‘The Link’ – a spacious room with underfloor heating, a food prep area, outsized dining table, large hot showers and a drying room. If you want to treat yourself to a slap up meal, work up an appetite with a twenty minute walk (or five minute drive) to The Old Ferry Inn at Bodinnick which has spectacular views over Fowey, the river and out to the English Channel. They distil their own gins and vodkas so you’re in for a fun afternoon. Just remember to take the dog (and the kids) back home with you.
