Cabins and Scotland were made for each other. There are parts of the country that stand alongside the world’s most popular travel destinations for unspoilt natural beauty, and a good remote cabin douses you in that woodsmoke smell and puts you right at the heart of them. Our job is to find the ones where you can feel the love that’s gone into creating them and the instant connection they provide with the drama of the Scottish wilderness.
We’ve personally inspected every cabin we work with, from the tip of Skye to the borders, checking them for comfort and quality, but also their character and charm. We want you to have a genuine, uplifting experience of the incredible landscape of Scotland, from a base that feels like it fell out of your dreams. The cabins are a varied bunch, and we give you an honest breakdown of what’s there as well as a clear idea of what your stay will be like. If you still can’t decide, then get in touch and we’ll guide you to the perfect one.
There are few places in the world where you can truly escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. But if you're looking for a place to truly switch off, then a remote cabin in Scotland might be just what you're looking for.
There are few better places to enjoy a weekend away than in one of Loch Lomond's beautiful cabins. Surrounded by stunning scenery, with plenty of activities on offer, a cabin break in Loch Lomond is the perfect way to relax and unwind.
How rustic are your cabins? Will I have to hunt my food and wear animal skins? We have a variety of cabins in Scotland, all of them built by different people and special in their own way. They range from pretty sophisticated, with underfloor heating and jacuzzis, to simpler stuff where it’s just you and a wood burner. You won’t have to hunt for food or warmth, unless you really want to. We recommend rolling an onion along the floor and chasing after it before you cook it, which is good for a bit of both.
What if I'm not sure which one to pick? If you can’t decide which cabin is for you, then get in touch. We’ve been to every single place we work with, even the ones way off in the highlands and islands of Scotland. You can drop us an email or call and one of the team will be able to talk you through your options. There are no automated help lines and no stock responses, just real people who’ll sort you out.
Who are you people anyway? We’re an independent, Bristol-based company that have been happily glamping since 2012 and our parent company Sawday’s has been in travel since the 90s. We believe that travel can and should be a force for good – encouraging connection with nature, contributing to local communities and giving our guests experiences that they’ll treasure. We look for places where all these things come together. If there happens to be a hot tub and some free gin, all the better.
What's so great about you? Well, we’re not saying we’re great, but we try. We plant trees for every booking, are part-owned by a charitable trust that supports environmental causes and were one of the very first B Corp travel companies in the UK. We’re always looking at ways of making our business more sustainable, a better place to work and a more effective tool for social and environmental change. We’re only a small company, but we work with a lot of inspiring groups to try and make a big difference.
We're majority employee owned, which means we all get a say in how the business is run.
Our Charitable Trust uses 24% ownership of the company to support environmental causes
We're committing to raise £50,000 by 2027 to help protect nature in our national parks.
