Some things are impossible to discover from a booking page. You can’t quite appreciate the feeling of waking up to mountains from an outdoor bath, find out that cows might wander over for breakfast, or learn that the woodland outside your door was planted by hand over the last 20 years. You certainly won’t know that an old family estate once housed the school that became Gordonstoun, or that beavers come out to work on the riverbanks after dark.

If you’re after mountains and big landscapes, look towards the Highlands and Cairngorms. For woodland and wildlife, there are plenty of stays surrounded by forests, while coastal cabins give you a different kind of wild altogether. The best place really depends on the scenery you want outside your window.
Can I find secluded cabins in Scotland?
Yes, and Scotland is very good at them. Our collection includes cabins tucked away in woodland, surrounded by farmland and sitting in remote corners of the countryside, where the loudest thing you hear might be birdsong. Can I bring my dog to a Scottish cabin?
Yes, plenty of our cabins in Scotland are dog-friendly. With huge amounts of countryside, woodland, beaches and walking routes to explore, Scotland makes an excellent destination for dogs and their humans. Are Scottish cabins good for a short break?
Yes, particularly if you choose somewhere close to the landscapes you want to explore. A couple of nights can be enough for a proper dose of fresh air, long walks and cabin cosiness. And if you don't fancy fitting in much at all, Scotland's remote settings are very well suited to a weekend of doing very little.
