The Wild 100: Wild spa weekends

Nature is the greatest healer, so forget the damp tiled spas of the city and come outside for relaxation the wild way, soaking up the views and the birdsong along with the steam.

Wild spa weekends is only one type of experience that features in The Wild 100, our selection of the incredible things that come with our stays. You can see the full 100 here, or sign up to our newsletter and have them sent to you in inspiring episodes over the next few weeks.

Ravendere Treehouse, Devon

1. Full spa experience

In a patch of woodland that runs all the way to the sea, you’ll find Ravendere wrapped in canopy, with a double-ended tub at the foot of the bed and a two-person hot tub out on the deck, next to the sauna. It just doesn’t get more decadent than this.

4. Tors before tubs

What better way to soothe weary limbs from a day walking on Dartmoor than a wood-fired tub with views of the tors you’ve been traipsing over. This site can also provide the full wellness experience with a sauna, natural swimming pond, gong baths, meadow massages and forest bathing workshops.

Pomeroy Treehouse, Somerset

5. A treetop spa

How do you elevate a spa experience? What about literally? You’ll find Pomeroy Treehouse amongst swaying pines, hiding a double outdoor shower, right next to the Finnish style sauna, and large outdoor copper bath. Book a massage on the treetop deck for the cherry on top of the spa sundae.

7. The cave sauna

In the bath on the balcony of your treehouse, you can let off a little steam into the trees, but follow the path down into the woods and you find the shared sauna, accessed through a door into a mound of earth. On the other side, glass doors let you slip out into the plunge pool on the deck.

8. Tiny pool party

In Cran Darach's world of smooth curves, you can soak in the round tub on the deck or the hot tub outside with indoor and outdoor speakers cranked up to turn the whole thing into your private little pool party. Play paper, scissors, stone to see who gets out for top ups.
